Who Else Wants to LOOK and FEEL Marvelous?
Did you know that the number of overweight and obese people is higher than ever?
Some estimates put the number in the USA alone, at 97 million, or 1 in 3 people! That number has nearly doubled in the past two decades.
Interestingly, the number of books on HOW to reduce weight is ALSO higher than ever!
If information alone were the solution, we in the United States would be the healthiest, trimmest people in the world.
But we are NOT, and there are some very good reasons why…
It is not that people don’t have enough motivation. Considering that:
- 33% to 40% of the population is “trying” to lose weight at any given time
- Being overweight is a risk factor for diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, gallbladder disease, arthritis, breathing problems, and some forms of cancer
- Americans spend over 33 billion dollars a year on weight reduction products,
There seems to be plenty of motivation to get in shape. And we haven’t even begun to factor in ALL the other reasons related to self-image, self-esteem — or how about just feeling good in your clothes.
So if people KNOW what to do and have lots of REASONS to do it, what IS the problem?
Well for one thing, food companies spend billions of dollars finding ways to maximize their profits, and they recruit the best and brightest minds to find ways of making YOU eat more of their foods. The more addictive the better.
Am I saying that your excess weight or lack of fitness is CAUSED by ruthless marketing of snack-food companies?
Of course not.
Am I saying that you need to move more and eat less?
Maybe. If that is the case though, you probably don’t need me to TELL you that!
Or is it more a matter of your relationship to food and your body:
WHEN you eat, HOW you eat and WHY you don’t make it to the gym as often as you should? I imagine, you KNOW THAT too.
So what is the sticking point?
Getting and staying in great physical condition, has a lot more to do with SELF-MANAGEMENT: the skills, tools and ability to control your imagination, focus, emotional response to stress, physiology, and YES, knowing HOW to motivate yourself, when you just don’t feel like doing what you need to do.
Willpower alone, cannot sustain fitness — if your imagination and/or emotions are not under your control.
Have you ever done this?
If you’ve ever rebounded from rejection with a jar of crunchy peanut butter, taken passionate pleasure in a sensual fling with Cherry Garcia, or been slowly seduced by chocolate cake, you have a pretty good idea of what I mean. (And if you haven’t, perhaps you ought to try it sometime! Just kidding. )
That is why fad diets don’t work and so many people are trapped in a never-ending cycle of yo yo dieting.
So then, why is exercise so darn hard for people, when it can make you feel and look so good? Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally and energetically too.
For most people, this too is a matter of focus and imagination. If you are associating exercise with being hot, sticky, out-of- breath and uncomfortable, you probably won’t be doing much of it. But if, instead you associate exercise with fitting in to your skinny jeans, the wonderful feeling you have at the end, and the idea sparks images of YOU with the energy, vitality, longevity and body you want — it is a whole different story.
Knowing how to shift your focus and consequently the energetic polarity within you, is like having a key to your metabolic engine. It makes the journey a lot easier.
Do you have what it takes?
Frankly most people simply don’t have the skills to easily make positive, permanent change in their weight and fitness. Usually it takes a devastating loss or life-threatening health challenge , to shock them into creating the change they need.
Even people who have spent tens of thousands of dollars on weight loss products and surgery eventually fall back into their old patterns unless they deal with the REAL issues.
But honestly dealing with the crux of the matter, is a lot easier than you think — WHEN you POSSESS and MASTER the skills that can help you get and stay thin, fit and fabulous –forever.
How the heck do I know?
It’s hard to admit… I was anorexic as an adolescent with a dis-functional relationship to my body and food. I literally starved myself in the hopes of achieving the body image pop culture deemed “right.” Then after a very traumatic incident at sixteen, I swung the other way, going on wild food binges, and literally cocooned myself in layers of soft, comforting cushions of fat, perpetuating the vicious cycle of crash dieting and emotional turmoil.
I am NOT saying that everyone who has a few pounds to lose, has emotional issues, or is as screwed up as I was. Not at all.
What I am saying, is that despite the fact that I had all that craziness going on, I was able to break though my food addictions, the resistance to exercise and get myself in shape. And if I did it with all that craziness, and hundreds of my students have done it — with or without extenuating circumstances, then so can you.
You see for the past twenty-five years, I have maintained my ideal weight, shape and size — WITHOUT DIETING!!
I’m VERY grateful that at age 50, I’m in better shape, with better muscle tone, strength and flexibility than I had at twenty-one.
“”Without Dieting” does not mean that I eat massive quantities of fatty junk food. It means that I don’t NEED a diet because the way I NOW naturally eat, my daily habits, the foods I now prefer and my love of exercise, all work to keep me healthy and in shape.
There are very few secrets when it comes to health and fitness. But HOW you get yourself to do (let alone ENJOY) the things that actually work for you, is a big one.
What exactly is the big secret?
My secrets have little to do with WHAT I eat or HOW I work out. But they do have a lot to do with the things I’m going to talk about in my ResultShop Monday night, such as how:
- Habitual thinking patterns influence weight and vitality. How to change yours.
- How to IMMEDIATELY ERASE DESIRE for something you don’t want — but find impossible to resist. You know that chocolate cake or favorite ice cream you can never say no to? Well not any more!
- How to change a habit in just 5 minutes
- Why most dieters actually PUT ON weight. What you need to do differently.
- Self-image affects behavior. Change yours.
- To find the ideal food and exercise plan for you
- Quickly and effectively get yourself motivated and energized
- Increase vitality in just five minutes a day
- And so much more
